Abstract: Dating in a Pandemic gives you a chance to practice your skills at discussing and disseminating behavior analysis to the public (Code 6.02). We will look at news reports from CNN and other sources showing marked shifts in dating trends during the COVID-19 pandemic. You will have an opportunity to leverage your skills in descriptive assessment and ABC analysis towards the behaviors and contingencies comprising this timely trend. In doing so, you will have a chance to practice discussing behavioral principles in ways that are more accessible and engaging to the public. The latter skill set is one that is underrepresented in traditional behavior analytic training programs, yet critical to fulfill our ethically obligated duties as behavior analysts.
