Personalized ACT Training

Angela J. Cathey, MA, LPC, is a consultant who works with individuals and organizations to promote better connected, purposeful, and effective living through behavior analytic principles. She has over a decade of clinical experience treating human suffering and promoting human excellence using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her training in ACT, Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), traditional Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies (Beckian CBT), and behavior analytic principles has included extensive work with Rob Zettle, PhD, Gareth Holman, PhD, and others.

She is deep believer in integrative, principle-driven work and tends to focus on systems and functional analysis of direct and non-direct (verbal) contingencies in constructing her case conceptualizations and treatment plans. Her clinical experience has included treatment of severe ‘pathology’ including, but not limited to: Obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, and psychotic disorders. She is a functional contextualist and now works largely in organizational contexts training leaders and teams to live balanced, connected, and effective work and home lives through the creation of healthier contexts.

Angela is now offering private consultation in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, in collaboration with bSci21.org. Consultation is meant to help develop the learners understanding and ability to apply these frameworks in their own lives and within their scope of practice limits. Consultation will include a flexible knowledge assessment and skill building exercises and assignments to help the learner grow.

This product is offered as a training and skills practice for the learner alone. Though case conceptualization training and practice of experiential techniques may be included this service, this service does not constitute therapeutic treatment and will not involve supervision of clinical cases.
