$20.00 $10.00

Speaker: Todd A. Ward, PhD, BCBA-D

President, bSci21Media, LLC

Event Date: Wednesday, Nov 14th from 1-2pm CST

If you are like so many people I have the privilege of contacting in my role as the leader of the largest ABA media outlet in the world (at bSci21.org), behavior analysts are hungry for new ways to practice their science, and to provide innovative solutions to all of the world’s problems. This was Skinner’s original vision, and entrepreneurship is a vehicle to get us there.

On November 14th, I’m giving a live webinar that will provide an overview of Skinner’s original vision for the field and show you how to utilize concepts from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Relational Frame Theory to generate a novel business idea linked to your valued directions, personal and professional interests, and innovative products and services.

These are tools that will empower you to pave your own path forward in behavior analysis, expand the scope of the field, and provide a greater variety of jobs for behavior analysts than ever before.

— Todd A. Ward, PhD, BCBA-D (President, bSci21Media, LLC)

Abstract: As early as 1938, in his book Behavior of Organisms, B.F. Skinner envisioned a science of behavior applicable to the entire world. He later referred to this as a “technology of behavior” and frequently discussed large-scale social issues such as pollution, nuclear war, and education. To Skinner, the science of behavior applied to every aspect of behavior in its full complexity. Today, 79 years later, we have not come close to fulfilling Skinner’s vision for the world. In this presentation, we will explore the current state of this “technology”, potential obstacles to implementation, and provide concrete steps that you can take to generate a novel behavior analytic business idea today.

BCBAs will receive 1 Type II CEU for attendance.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to define a technology of behavior.
  2. Participants will be able to give an example of past behavior analytic efforts to align the field with Skinner’s vision.
  3. Participants will be able to clarify their valued business direction, create relations between their personal interests, their professional interests, and potential products/services.

*Please allow 1 business day for processing.  You will receive a link to the webinar in the purchase notes of your emailed receipt.  Please contact dev@bsci21.org should any issues arise.
