Building a committed workforce with ACT & OBM (2 CEUs, Live Event)
Time: March 22nd from 1-3pm CST
Speaker: Todd A. Ward, PhD, BCBA-D
2 Type II CEUs available to BCBAs.
Abstract: Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) is gaining popularity within more traditional sectors of behavior analysis, and clinical ABA providers more specifically. In this presentation, I will discuss my own work combining ACT and Organizational Behavior Management together to create automated, online, ACT modules targeting various processes such as values, perspective taking, goal setting, and mindfulness. I will then discuss criteria for selecting different ACT processes in your training and how to link them to performance outcomes in your organization.
This presentation is an extension of the 1-hour “How to build self-guided ACT-based staff trainings” available at bSci21.org/product-category/ceus. The current talk will go into greater detail on the components of online ACT modules, topics in behavioral systems, and the past work using ACT in business settings.
1) Participants will be able to define values from an ACT perspective.
2) Participants will be able to describe how ACT promotes psychological flexibility.
3) Participants will be able to link ACT processes to performance outcomes in their organization.
