Live Event: How Behavior Analysis can Increase Gender Equality in the Field

$30.00 $15.00

Thursday, 10/4 1-2:30PM CST

Speaker: Angela Cathey, MA, LPC (Owner & Consultant, ENSO Group)

1.5 Type II CEU for BCBAs is available for this event.

To advance as a science, we often need to take a look at the contingencies that drive behavior in our own field in different directions. In this CEU, we will look at contingencies throughout the field of behavior analysis at multiple levels that may influence gender inequality. In particular, we will discuss how leaders in the field, such as public and private organizations of various types, can better mitigate contingencies that inhibit gender equality.  We will also discuss cultural setting factors that influence gender bias at all levels, and suggest innovative ways to create new corrective learning experiences.

Through this workshop you will:

  1. Identify elements of shared cultural history that may increase rule-governed behavior and bias around gender.
  2. Explain the importance of self-compassion/mindfulness and acceptance in reducing rule-governed bias towards believing oneself biased.
  3. Identify a step you can take in your current milieu to create corrective learning history.

*Your order will be processed within one business day. Please check your receipt in your email for registration instructions. During the event, you will be provided a link to complete your evaluation for CE credit. After completing the evaluation you will receive your CE certificate instantly in your bSci21.org User Profile.
